AAMCO INTRODUCES R.A.C.E. TECHNICAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

BALA CYNWYD, PA, March 3, 2003—AAMCO Transmissions, Inc. is now offering a technical program scholarship to qualified candidates. The AAMCO RACE (Reimbursement for Achievement of Career Excellence) Scholarship Program is designed to benefit students in the auto repair and transmission field and assist AAMCO dealers in the hiring of highly qualified transmission technicians.

The twelve qualified candidates that are chosen to receive AAMCO RACE will work at an AAMCO center upon graduation from the Universal Technical Institute (UTI), one of the nation's leading providers of technical education, training, and technicians for the industry. Student loans taken out will be repaid by AAMCO through AAMCO's William Shnycer Education Fund when the student becomes employed at an AAMCO center.

AAMCO's technicians are among the best in the industry, which is why the company chose to partner with UTI. AAMCO Director of Technical Services Richard Roth explains, "At AAMCO, we are known for the high skill level of our technicians, and we need quality technicians with the type of education UTI provides—they have graduated over 65,000 professional technicians in the last 37 years. The scholarship will reimburse students for their training there, while at the same time reward them for choosing AAMCO."

The William Schnycer Education Fund was created in honor of former Vice Chairman William Schnycer, to recognize his many contributions during his 37-year career with AAMCO.
