Rotary offers study-abroad scholarship |
Rotary International District 7930 presents a tremendous opportunity for qualified persons to receive up to a $26,000 scholarship each to study at a university in a foreign country. In return, the scholar becomes an ambassador for Rotary and for the U.S., spreading the message of good will and world peace through understanding to everyone they encounter in their travels. Candidates for the scholarship cannot be Rotarians or their family member, must have completed two years of college and must have substantial roots in District 7930. Additional requirements apply. Candidates must fully complete their application and then submit it to their hometown club by June 15, newly extended date.

Rotary International District 7930 is comprised of Rotary Clubs from many cities and towns including Wakefield. 10 scholarships available Academic Finance Corporation is offering a scholarship sweepstakes of 10 scholarships for $5,000 each to randomly selected students who will be attending an accredited college, university or trade school in the fall of 2006. There is no essay requirement and eligibility is not based on GPA, area of study, or financial need. Students may apply for this scholarship by going to www.academicfinancing.com. Entries will be accepted until Monday, July 31. NSCC announces scholarships North Shore Community College announces a new scholarship for fall 2006 for students applying to the Commonwealth Honors Program.
