Then travel with the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan to Chartres, France, in January 2008.
Chartres, a city rich in history that dates back to 1194, will be the focus of the 2008 UW-Sheboygan Continuing Education 2008 Study Abroad Trip set for January 16-25, 2008.
The tour will include all the sites throughout historical Chartres, including Chartres Cathedral, as well as nearby cities of Paris, Versailles and the beautiful Loire Valley. Cost for the trip is $2,149 per person. Trip leaders will be UW-Sheboygan English Professor Joe Milicia and Geography Professor Karl Byrand
The trip price includes: round-trip non-stop airfare on Air France from Chicago to Paris, coach transfers to and from airports in both the U.S. and France, superior class accommodations at the Hotel Chatelet in Chartres, a walking tour of the city of Chartres, a guided tour of Chartres Cathedral, all-day bus trips to the Loire Valley, Versailles zand Paris.
All participants will be expected to bring sufficient additional funds for other expenses, such as lunches, dinners and transportation. A passport is required for travel between the U.S. and France.
UW-Sheboygan students have the option of earning one credit for the trip by attending the guided tours and breakfast talks and keeping a journal. Interested students must enroll in ENG 290/GEO 297: Literature, Culture and Geography of France: Chartres, Paris and the Loire Valley.
