The financial assistance given by different countries to Pakistan will stop if the army continues to hold power in the post-Musharraf set up, claimed Syeda Abida Hussain, former Ambassador of Pakistan to the U.S.
The Inter-Services Public Relations statement at the corps commander conference that showed confidence in General Musharraf carried no substance, the Daily Times quoted Abida, as saying.
The army belongs to everyone and it shouldn't be used negatively. The people's trust instead of corps commanders' confidence will benefit this government, she added.
Abida, a leading member of the PPP's think-tank, said that the active participation of the masses, the lawyers and the political parties would achieve the target of overthrowing the Musharraf regime.
"President Musharraf mocks at the Parliament, which he himself established. He attaches more importance to his position as Chief of Army Staff and calls his uniform a second skin," she cited.
Free and fair elections could not be held unless President Musharraf shed his second skin. Those who sacrificed their lives on May 12 at Karachi, saved Pakistan from disintegration, she claimed.Labels: education online, financial aid, free college, scholarship, study abroad |
