The National University of Ireland, Galway, has a long tradition of involvement in providing education for students from developing countries. In keeping with this tradition the NUI, Galway International Scholarship Programme was launched in 2005.
The programme builds on NUI, Galway's tradition of offering opportunities to talented students from the developing world and "is aimed at developing the capacity of outstanding individuals who can assume leadership roles in their fields of study and whose work will enhance the development of their own society" (President Ó Muircheartaigh).
The scholarship provides recipients with €15,000 for living expenses and in addition covers the cost of tuition fees. This programme is currently open to applicants from Ethiopia, South Africa and Sri Lanka. Applications should be received before 30 June 2007.
The International Affairs Office is currently accepting applications. You may be aware of suitable applicants in your institution or you may have been contacted by suitable candidates who would benefit from being referred to the international scholarship programme. I would ask that you circulate information regarding the scholarship to suitable applicants.Labels: academy awards, career training, education online, financial aid, free college, free education, high school, scholarship, student loans, study abroad |
