Century High School graduate Katy Self has signed on to continue her softball career at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City. Self, a right-handed Metro League pitching star, notched 216 strikeouts and had a 1.36 ERA this season. Self was just as potent at the plate, hitting .333 this season and she has a career batting average of .468. She is a four-year letter winner and was Century's team captain in 2006. In her career at Century, Self garnered all-league honors, tallied over 500 career strike-outs and had her jersey number retired by the school. "We are very excited to have Katy join us for the 2007 season," said Cougar co-head coach Jessica Farnsworth. "She is a high-caliber pitcher that has been very successful throughout her career. I am excited to see what she can do with our defense behind her. We expect to have one of the best pitching staffs in the league this coming season." source: www.oregonlive.com |
