Aryal gives away scholarship to girls of martyred policemen |
Minister of State for Women, Children and Social Welfare Urmila Aryal inaugurated a special function organized on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the Armed Police Family Women�s Association. On the occasion, she gave away scholarships to two girls of the martyred-armed policemen, letters of appreciation, certificates and sewing machines to trainers and trainees of the sewing and cutting training. She also gave away various commendation letters to persons contributing to various programmes of the association. Association Executive Member Ganga Shrestha said the association has been providing help to the victims in times of disasters through co-work with various organizations. Executive Member Babita Bhattarai made commitment to work in the social service in the days ahead. A three-day fair has also been organized in the Armed Police Force Headquarters. A blood donation programme was organized on the occasion of the anniversary, where some 105 persons of the Association and the APF donated blood. Meanwhile, Minister of State for Women, Children and Social Welfare Urmila Aryal gave away cash prizes, certificates and one sewing machine each to participants of a training organized in Chhauni Barrack by the Army Officers Wives Association (Nepali Army) for the assistance of the wives of the martyred army personnel. Such eight trainings have been concluded by the Association so far. Some 238 wives of the martyred personnel have been benefited from the training, the Military Liaison Directorate said. Present on the occasion was COAS General Pyar Jung Thapa.
