Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) education and training firm OTech of Dallas, Texas, is proud to announce the launch of http://www.OTPedia.com.
The site is a free on-line healthcare technology information and educational resource, which also can be used to prepare for various professional certifications in the healthcare technology field. The focus of OTPedia.com is geared toward professionals involved with medical imaging and informatics.
Its core content is based on text books and training courses published by OTech, with additional contributions from a variety of professionals in the healthcare informatics field. OTpedia.com currently contains material on more than 300 subjects of interest for HIT professionals.
In addition, for system administrators seeking a more in-depth knowledge of imaging informatics, OTPedia.com has developed a set of extensive articles based around a comprehensive syllabus of HIT topics, including:
• Procurement. • Project management. • Operations. • Communications. • Education and training. • Image management. • Information technology. • Systems management. • Clinical engineering. • Medical informatics.
Registration for the site is also free, and is required to view other premium content on the site -- such as detailed guidelines for PACS policies and procedures.
Herman Oosterwijk, president of OTech says: “It appears that there is still a great need for content based on the many basic questions that keep on appearing on internet message boards. The medical imaging profession is expanding at a fast pace; many professionals from either the IT or clinical field are switching careers to get into this exciting and expanding area. Making a significant portion of our education content available on-line will definitely benefit these professionals in their careers and enhance the certifications effort.”
Future enhancements to OTPedia.com include white papers and video presentations on a wide range of subjects of interest to HIT professionals. In the next couple weeks the site will be adding material related to the PACS Administrators Registry and Certification Association (PARCA).
PARCA is an independent organization providing certification at four levels: Certified PACS Associate (CPAS); Certified PACS Interface Analyst (CPIA); Certified PACS System Analyst (CPSA); and Certified PACS Systems Manager (CPSM). For more information about PARCA, please visit its Web site at http://pacsadmin.org.
Although OTech sponsors and maintains OTPedia.com, it is a free and open educational forum available to anyone with an interest in HIT. As such, all material on OTPedia.com is presented for editorial comment and enrichment by its users as well as the addition of any subject or term related to HIT that they would like to share with the community.
